PERSONALITY PROFILE
  1. People don't behave the same way all the time. In fact, they generally have a mask for every social group -- friends, family, business. Sometimes they have a different mask for different groups of friends. How does your character act around different people? How does their personality shift and change?
Bullet; Pink Friends: Fuu doesn't speak much, and prefers to stand on the fringes or back away from a group. To her, an ideal 'hanging out with friends' situation is training together, or an activity that doesn't require much talking, like chess or a movie. Because of this, she's extremely hard to get to know personally, and she can count the people she considers friends on one hand- Shiden, Jun, Tatum, Sosh, and she's really beginning to warm up to Regan... and Katsumi (AU-wise).
Bullet; Pink Family: Fuu no longer has a true family, but considers her private students to be like her children- Clio, Scott, Jo, Layla. She shows them respect but is incredibly tough on them, much more than her regular subordinates. But they can all sense the very subdued sense of warmth she feels for them, and they're the few people she lets down her walls for.
Bullet; Pink Business: Fuu is stone cold serious when it comes to work. She follows military decorum to a T, shows proper courtesies and respect, and barely speaks to anyone unless it's strictly about business.

  2. Your character has been brought to a party and promptly ditched. They don't have a ride back home. How does this work? How comfortable are they around all of these strangers? Do they interact?
Bullet; Pink She would leave, given someone was actually able to get her to the party in the first place.

  3. It's kind of awkward - what subjects are likely to make your character hesitate, flush, stumble on their words, etc.?
Bullet; Pink Fuu is cold as ice, and nothing really phases her. The closest to this situation she would get is if someone asked her something that either pissed her off to the point of silence, or asked about her past, to which she'd just glare at them and move on.

  4. Is your character more dominant or submissive to the people around them? Do they tend to follow others' orders and wait for people to give them instruction in life, or do they charge ahead and make decisions on their own?
Bullet; Pink Fuu commands the whole Gotei, so she's top dog and dominant. She's always been ambitious though, and only chose to follow orders so she'd be a good little soldier and get promoted. She definitely will not wait around for instruction in her life, and reeeallly dislikes unsolicited advice.

  5. What happens when your character doesn't get what they want?
Bullet; Pink Fuu doesn't care for material things, but if it's a political or military situation, she'll either 1) come up with a better plan, 2) organize a coup and take out the person blocking her, or 3) roll with it, understanding she may be in the wrong. It just depends on the people she's dealing with

  6. What's the character's self-esteem like?
Bullet; Pink Fuu is self-assured. She knows exactly who she is and what she wants out of life. Her confidence actually makes other people uncomfortable sometimes. However, she has a blind spot when it comes to her own capability for empathy and being a good friend. Because she really is, but so many things have convinced her that she's not a good person to go to for personal things, only a good leader. She underestimates her own ability to give a shit.
      a. Does it change over the course of the story?
Bullet; Pink Fuu actually doesn't change much in the present timeline of my story. In the past, Fuu was actually on the arrogant side and had to let out some of her own hot air through several incidents. Not that you'd know, since she's always been as expressive as a steel door.

  7. What's one flaw about themselves that they hate the most and wish they could change?
Bullet; Pink Fuu sometimes wishes she could outwardly express more contentment, and maybe even be more approachable because people think she's pissed all the time when she's really just relaxed and calm. And she really does like certain people and would like to be on friendlier terms with them. But she believes it's too late for her to try and adopt a friendlier persona. She also would like to have two eyes again.

  8. How does their personality shift when someone gets to know them well?
Bullet; Pink She'll actually talk to them about personal things. She might even let her guard down a little (just a little).

  9. Do they prefer time alone, or with other people?
Bullet; Pink Fuu prefers solitude. She's a very introspective person, and pretty much all of her hobbies are solitary activities. However, she loves teaching, and makes an exception to preferring solitude in her free time to instruct.

  10. Is it easy for this character to tell someone "no" when they don't want to do something?
Bullet; Pink Hahahahahahahhaahahahahaha you go try to force Fuu to do something and see how that turns out for you.

  11. If this character were to describe their own personality, how would they do it?
Bullet; Pink Fuu would say she's practical, efficient, and pragmatic. Now do you have something worthwhile to talk about?

  12. Is this character aware of their flaws?
Bullet; Pink She's not as self-aware as she thinks she is. She's perfectly aware of her prickly personality, her faults in her leadership style and her abilities in battle. However she doesn't realize that she's let herself become the rumors about her, and she doesn't realize at all that she's kind of lonely... in the sense that she won't let herself get closer to the people she cares about (does that even make sense? I hope so :P). As in, she now refuses to change solely because she thinks she is the quintessential glacier, immovable object that doesn't need emotions. Not that she's a touchy-feely type of person deep down, but she is capable of some sort of warmth. She's rid herself of emotions because they've goten her in a ton of issues in the past.

  13. Has this character's personality changed from childhood to adulthood?
Bullet; Pink A looot. She's always been a hard-charger and ambitious, but she used to be able to joke around easier. Now she won't let any of her emotions show, and generally refuses to let people get close. This is due to equal parts how she has been treated in the past, and because in her past, showing any kind of weakness was a ticket to getting your ass assassinated.

  14. Who influenced this character's personality? Did they pick up any mannerisms or traits from someone?
Bullet; Pink Fuu's parents pretty much made her the leader and mentor she is. Her enemies made her become emotionless and hard- enemies in her human life and her afterlife. Shiden Kai helped her open back up, even if it was just slightly. In fact, Tachibana Jun taught her how to be a friend again, since she kind of just forced her way into Fuu's life without consent. ANd of course, Jo and Layla, moreso than all her other private students (though they helped too), helped her move on from the losses she's faced in the past.

  15. Does this character express affection? Are they comfortable doing so?
Bullet; Pink Nope, she doesn't, and is definitely not comfortable with it. She generally doesn't like to be touched- the exception being Jun, because she doesn't have a choice, and Jo, because Jo is a hugger (and Kat, after a very long time). Fuu's expressions of affection are subtle and very easy to miss unless you squint and tilt your head a little to the left.

  16. When frightened, will the character "fight" or "flight"?
Bullet; Pink Fight. And you'd never be able to tell she was scared anyway, aha

  17. Does this character ever put someone else's needs in front of their own?
Bullet; Pink Usually, yes. Fuu's got a very Spartan mindset, so she doesn't have a lot of needs anyway. Her leadership model dictates she puts the needs of her subordinates before her own, within reason (for instance, she believes a leader should eat last, always take watch when they can, and never order people to do something the leader wouldn't do). She will not, however, rashly put herself in harm's way- she is perfectly aware and has no problem admitting she's a lot more useful uninjured and rational. She doesn't value her worth more than others per say, but she does know where and how she is valuable- leading and staying alive in order to do so. This is a lesson she utterly failed teaching Jo.
      a. If there are only rare exceptions, why is that the case?
Bullet; Pink Oops I kind of answered that above. She also won't put someone who has betrayed their comrades' needs first- once you're trash in her eyes, you're trash.

  18. If this character suffered amnesia and lost all their memories, what would they be like?
Bullet; Pink Fuu would go baaack to her old, easier to get along with self. But she'll also have lost the memories of what made her stop being so ambitious, so she'd be back to being totally ruthless when it comes to gaining rank and respect. So, she would be, if you can believe it, even more terrifying.

  19. How does the character's living space reflect their personality?
Bullet; Pink Fuu's place is mostly undecorated, very simple Japanese furniture... in fact the only 'luxury' item she has in her house is a TV, and she uses it to watch old human movies, rarely. (Shiden uses it all the time). This reflects her character as a no-nonsense military lady. It's another example of that spartan mindset- no frills, just the necessities.

  20. What's one thing that other characters wish they could change about this character's personality?
Bullet; Pink Everyone wishes she was just... less scary... people are afraid to approach her, even though they know she's got good things to teach.

EMOTIONAL PROFILE
  1. How easy is it for your character to feel anger? What's usually a good tip off that they're experiencing it? (Physical reactions, movements of appendages, etc.)
Bullet; Pink It's actually pretty difficult to piss Fuu off- it's very easy to irritate her, or earn her dislike, but she doesn't really do the more 'extreme' emotions easily. When Fuu's angry, her usual glare will harden, her lips will curl, and she'll tense up tighter than a... well, I don't have a good tight reference right now but I'm sure you can imagine. When she's extra pissed she'll let some of her spiritual pressure out, which is stormy and heavy and just... scary.
      a. Sadness?
Bullet; Pink Fuu won't outwardly show this emotion, since she rarely lets herself feel that way. When she's really sad, her eye is the only place that will betray how she feels.
      b. Happiness?
Bullet; Pink Fuu, when really happy, smiles... but just barely, more like a twitch at the corner of her mouth. If you blink you'll miss it.
      c. Fear?
Bullet; Pink When Fuu actually feels fear, she also gets mad. So, she exhibits all the signs of anger instead of how normal people express fear.

  2. What state of mind is the character usually in?
Bullet; Pink Fuu is generally in a neutral mood. She's calm, but she's always in war-mode so a part of her is always assessing the situation, looking for threats, and figuring out the best way to get her people out, or kill if there's a threat. This mindset has become instinctual, and she isn't completely consciously aware that she has a plan to kill everyone she meets.

  3. Are there any emotions the character is particularly afraid of, or really resents having to feel?
Bullet; Pink Fuu resents feeling fear, as she thinks it's distracting and useless. She's also a little bit afraid of feeling any deep emotional attachment to anyone, since people just drop dead often around her and she doesn't want to have to deal with actively trying not to feel grief.

  4. How easily does this character trust their feelings with others?
Bullet; Pink Not even a little. She feels that by sharing feelings, people will either try to take advantage, or perceive her as weak.
      a. Has anyone ever betrayed them?
Bullet; Pink Yes, Tatum (on accident), her former 4th and 3rd seats, and a few times in her human life.
      b. How did it affect their ability to trust?
Bullet; Pink It made her not trust anyone she hasn't known personally for a long time.

  5. Can this character easily hide their emotions?
Bullet; Pink Yep. Fuu doesn't express much emotion at all.
      a. Do they find it difficult to express emotion, thus tend to look neutral?
Bullet; Pink Yes, but Fuu's neutral face is usually mistaken for angry.

  6. How well can this character resist their emotions and impulses?
Bullet; Pink Easily. Fuu doesn't put much stock in emotions and impulses, unless she's fighing (she trusts her instincts there)

  7. Does this character ever get violent (with others, objects, themselves) when feeling any certain emotions?
Bullet; Pink Nope, Fuu values control above all else. Violence is contained to what she needs to do for her job.

  8. Has this character contemplated suicide?
Bullet; Pink Nope
      a. Self-harm?
Bullet; Pink Nope
      b. Physically injuring others?
Bullet; Pink It's a part of her job, as well as her training methods
      c. Killing others?
Bullet; Pink For work, and she won't bat an eye killing someone she thinks will get people killed.

  9. Does the character have any triggers? Why do these things trigger them?
Bullet; Pink Canon fire. Pretty specific aha, but things that sound like canon fire make her twitch

  10. What would hurt this character so badly they couldn't even breathe?
Bullet; Pink She thinks she's endured enough to not have anything affect her this heavily. What she doesn't know is that one of her students getting killed now, especially the captains who she works with a lot now, would drop her emotionally.

  11. What is guaranteed to make this character smile?
Bullet; Pink Things that make her happy, not necessarily smile, are good students that take her teachings and expand on them, lightning storms (natural ones), kung fu movies, writing poetry, painting, and horses

  12. If the character could remove one emotion from their life, which would they choose?
Bullet; Pink All of them, but especially fear, anguish, annoyance, dread, remorse and guilt.

  13. If they're feeling upset, who are they likely to talk to for comfort? Or do they keep it inside?
Bullet; Pink Shiden Kai. She doesn't trust anyone else like that.

  14. How would this character cope with losing someone extremely close to them?
Bullet; Pink Meditation and training. That's pretty much it

  15. How does this character look and feel when crying?
Bullet; Pink Fuu doesn't cry- she never has, not even when her son died. Things that would make her cry instead make her 100% rage crazed.

  16. If the character had to live out the rest of their life either perpetually angry, sad, or frightened, which would they choose?
Bullet; Pink Anger, it's the closest thing to her kind of apathy.

  17. Does this character tend to blame or punish others for their own emotions?
Bullet; Pink No, like I said before Fuu is big on self-control and self responsibility. In fact there's a special angry place in her heart for people that blame all their problems on others.

  18. Is this character empathetic, and tends to be influenced by the emotions of others?
Bullet; Pink Nope, Fuu kind of struggles with emotion-related stuff

  19. What is the strongest emotion they have felt?
Bullet; Pink Anger
      a. What event caused that?
Bullet; Pink Her son being murdered in front of her eyes
      b. How would they react if that happened again?
Bullet; Pink A lot of people would die, probably

  20. If the character were to come face to face with their darkest fears in a nightmare, what would be the scene?
Bullet; Pink Fuu would be trapped in a glass box and forced to watch the people she cares about get slaughtered. Alternatively, they would one by one come up to her and disown her as a mentor or friend, finishing with Shiden who then strips her of her powers and leaves her helpless.

  3. Describe the muscle content of your character. Are they untrained and soft? Or lithe and powerful?
Bullet; Pink Fuu has strong muscles, but they aren't completely visible. She has a softening layer of fat all over her body, mostly in her midsection. She's an endomorph- no matter her diet (unless she starves herself) she'll still have that fat. Not that she cares what her body looks like haha

  4. What kind of body fat percentage do you suppose they have?
Bullet; Pink uhhh probably like 25-27%

  5. Do they have any scars? Where did those scars come from, and how did they get them?
Bullet; Pink Her eye is missing, and has heavy scarring on the lid from getting shot with an arrow- this is how she died. She has four through stab wounds on her torso, all from her life as a samurai- one, on her shoulder, was years before her death, and the rest are from the same fight as the arrow

  6. Describe some hairstyles your character has had in the past.
Bullet; Pink Fuu's hair has always been shoulder length and pulled into a bun. Her bangs are new, and she only recently started wearing it loose.

Bullet; Pink Shoulder-length, bangs and layers around her face. She wears it down a lot now, since she sees less combat as a captain commander

Bullet; Pink Missing eye, her scars, and a jagged violet line marking that starts in the middle of her shoulders and runs down her spine, stopping in the small of her back (this is her contract mark)

PREFERENCES AND PEEVES
  1. What's the state of your character's kitchen? What kind of foods do you find in it? Is it... clean?
Bullet; Pink Clean and organized, and very practical. She actually cooks, though her meals are typically very simple. She doesn't have much in the way of sugary stuff or spices.

  2. If they could only eat one type of food for the rest of their life, what would they choose?
Bullet; Pink Fish

  3. What kind of clothing does this character like wearing and why?

      c. Revealing clothing?
Bullet; Pink She thinks people that wear revealing clothing for attention have no place in her military. Outside of her military, she doesn't care.

Bullet; Pink Agression and fighting for dominance (given you get far enough to even have her considering sleeping with you)

  7. What type of movie is this character most interested in watching?
Bullet; Pink Kung fu and oldie samurai movies.

Bullet; Pink Fuu would probably pick cooking, so she wouldn't waste her time trying to learn how to feed herself better.

  9. Are there any behaviors that other characters do that irk this character?
Bullet; Pink Boastfulness, people that lack self control, people that feign stupidity, arrogance, people that try to force their company on her when she clearly isn't interested (anyone trying to force people to do anything social, really), people that don't try, people that don't show proper respect... quite a lot haha
      a. Does the character ever voice their annoyance?
Bullet; Pink Not voice her annoyance specifically, but she makes it pretty obvious in how cutting her conversations become

Bullet; Pink She would opt out, she doesn't want to stay the same forever.

Bullet; Pink Pretty much, though her bedroom habits are 100% a secret to everyone

ALL ABOUT HISTORY
  1. Describe a scenario that has impacted your character and caused them extreme happiness.

      a. Fear?
Bullet; Pink When her son was imprisoned, when Jo was 'killed'
      b. Disappointment?
Bullet; Pink Any time one of her subordinates (specifically the ones she actually trusts) fucks up big time
      c. Depression?
Bullet; Pink Fuu has never experienced true, clinical depression before. She's too busy charging ahead and making alternate plans.

  2. What is the character's first memory?
Bullet; Pink Being with her parents- noting specific, just domestic stuff

  3. Has the character ever experienced deja vu? Do you happen to know why?
Bullet; Pink Nope

  4. Sensations are powerful things, and often certain scents, sounds, touches, etc. can invoke memories strongly associated with them. Which have imprinted in your character's mind?
Bullet; Pink Certain types of dumplings and the smell of ink reminds her of her mother, and the combo of tobacco and leather reminds her of her dad.

  5. How'd they get along with their parents and/or other relatives?
Bullet; Pink She absolutely adored and admired her parents. They were a very close-knit, loving family. She had no siblings and never met her extended family though.

Bullet; Pink Shiden Kai is the most important 'person' in Fuu's life

  7. What's the worst injury they've ever gotten?
Bullet; Pink Fuu was nearly torn apart by her own Bankai during the incident that got her demoted.

  8. How many places has this character lived in? What stands out most about those places to them?
Bullet; Pink She travelled all over Japan, and then came to Soul Society. Her only permanent home was her parent's house.

  9. If the character could erase one memory from their mind, what would it be?
Bullet; Pink She would erase her son. She knows she'll never get to see him again, and the memories hurt her more than help.

  10. What was the character's economic situation?
Bullet; Pink She's very highly paid as the Captain Commander of the Gotei. She also never spends any money, so she has a very large amount of money just sitting in the bank.

  11. What are the character's three clearest memories?
Bullet; Pink The first time she sparred with her dad on equal footing
Bullet; Pink The day her son died
Bullet; Pink The day her first private student successfully completed her training (that was Clio)

  13. If the character could go back and choose their sex at birth, what would they choose?
Bullet; Pink Probably stay a woman.

  14. Describe the character's love life throughout the years.
Bullet; Pink Fuu doesn't have a 'love' life. She's had a string of sexual encounters, some that lasted longer than others, just based off physical need. Her son's father was a one night stand. In Soul Society she continued to have no time for relationships, and was annoyed with most potential suitors anyway. Fuu can be, surprisingly, a pretty sexual individual when she feels she has some time to blow, but don't expect any sort of preamble or foreplay. Often she's all business unless someone really challenges her.

  15. How did the family that raised this character influence them?
Bullet; Pink I already discussed this above- Fuu's parents made her who she is.

  16. If this character could "unmeet" someone in their life, who would they choose?
Bullet; Pink Her former 3rd Seat

  17. If the character could choose different parents for themselves, who would they choose and why?
Bullet; Pink She wouldn't

  18. Does this character feel guilty about anything in the past?
Bullet; Pink Her mother and son's deaths.

  19. If the character were asked to associate an adjective with different stages of their life, what would they choose and why?
(I'm all typed out, might do this one later)

  20. If the character could choose to have themselves born at a specific time period, which would they pick and why?
Bullet; Pink Fuu loves the era she was born in. But she might pick a more peaceful time, so she could have more time riding around on horses instead of fighting
I think people might like to know more about Fuuuuu since she's one of my more complicated OCs

It helped my solidify her stuff in any case~ Hope you enjoy reading about Ms. Glacier herself!

Oh, in case you were wodering who Fuu would like to be closer with, (besides her few already friends Jun (BFFS), Sosh, and Tatum), she'd like to get to know Regan and wished she had learned more about captain Manaan. She's also pretty fond of her lieutenants and the patriarch of the Oda Clan, Oda Akihiro. (surprisingly, since he's a total goofball)
