(I saw a commission DOTs got of Sauria and I really liked the hair okay)
~~~~~~Sauria trudged wearily away from her temporary office. The Captain Commander wasn't letting her move into
her Gotei without putting Sauria to work, but the brunette's advanced pregnancy kept her from getting a permanent position. "For now." Commander Hattori had stated.
"For now' meant Sauria was to work under the person she was moving in with, which was fine by her. Both the third division captains were extraordinarily lazy when it came to paperwork, and Sauria figured it was better to pick up their slack than laze around Layla's apartment all day.
But her pregnancy was taking much more of a toll than Sauria had expected; the baby's species probably had something to do with that. Between the lack of sleep and normal exhaustion that came with nourishing new lives, Sauria was at the end of her rope. Her temper was at an all time high, and she was regretfully taking it out on the only person that had to spend an extended amount of time with her.
As she waddled away from her desk, she began to pace around the room, slowly. Earlier she had screamed bloody murder at the redheaded captain, who had just given her a tired look and left without saying anything. Sauria was trying to decide whether or not she felt bad about it...On the one hand, Sauria was pissed at Layla. Pissed for scaring her half to death nine months ago and pissed at how long it took her to accept Sauria's condition. In fact she was still unsure if Layla still loved her as much as before, knowing she was carrying the children of the man who almost killed Layla. THe more she thought about it, the more she wanted to cry as her hormonal state of mind convinced her Layla was going to leave her. She stopped pacing and gripped the edge of her desk, letting the irrational tears fall.
She sniffed, trying to get a hold of her sudden mood swing, when another thought came to mind. That morning, Layla had gotten up incredibly early (for her, anyway) and had made Sauria breakfast- spam and eggs, of course. Come to think of it, Layla had done that almost every morning since Sauria started having morning sickness. And. And Layla had let her stay, even though she had kept the pregnancy from her for almost a month. She had put up with Sauria's crazy mood swings for the past seven months, even stayed up most of the night with her. Sauria pressed a hand to her forehead.
'... Oh gods, and I screamed at her for not putting cream in my coffee....' The realization made her want to slap herself. Layla wasn't going to leave her.
She straightened suddenly and strode... well, waddled, out of her office. She hurried awkwardly into Layla's larger office, straight through the door that was usually left open. The redhead was perched on her desk, an unlit cigarette in her mouth and a stack of ignored paperwork at her side.
"Layla!" Sauria practically shouted, and halted a few feet from her door. "Is that a fucking cigarette? Way to think of my health!" The words tumbled out of her mouth before she could stop them, and she slapped a hand to her lips in horror. That was definitely not what she meant to say. Damn hormones...
Layla simply looked at her calmly, the barest hint of hurt showing in her eyes. She sighed and pulled the offending object from between her teeth and flicked it into the garbage can under her desk.
"I'm sorry, Mahal. I just..." The exhaustion was apparent in Layla's voice, and Sauria couldn't take it anymore.
"No!" She interrupted, hugging herself. "Don't be sorry. I'm sorry! I just... I just don't want you to leave me, okay! And I know you want to!" She sucked in a shaky breath after her outburst.
Layla blinked. "You... What? Leabe you? Mahal, wherre am I going?"
Sauria choked, letting out a noise between a laugh and a sob. "No... Layla, leave me. Break up with me! Because I'm fat and annoying and you won't love these kids... and you don't love me anymore and-" She stopped abruptly when Layla lifted her legs up and wrapped them around Sauria's back, pulling her in until her distended belly bumped the edge of Layla's perch.
Layla stared at Sauria for a moment before chuckling softly. "I know what 'leabing' means. And ip I had wanted to leabe you I would hab done it already." She chose to ignore the comments about love; she knew Sauria knew, deep down, that she would love the kids.... well. At least like them.
A finger pressed against Sauria's lips, silencing her. "No, you listen. I get that eberything is all crrazy lady por you rright now, okay? It's not like I habn't been arround a prregnant woman bepore. And..." She grabbed a fistful of Sauria's top and pulled her closer, touching their foreheads together. "I could neber think you werre anything less than gorrgeous. But you'rre more than that. Why do you think I pell off de cliff por you?"
The earnest little grin Layla gave her made Sauria laugh softly. "It's just 'fell for you', Layla..." She still didn't really believe what the redhead was saying, and shook her head. "Anyway, you can tell the truth... I'm fat and u-"
She was silenced again when Layla's lips pressed into her own, followed by a tongue, both of which stayed long enough for Sauria to recover from the initial shock and kiss Layla back, sighing softly with relief and an imaginary breath she didn't know she was holding. Layla didn't do 'chaste' kisses, and by the time she leaned back away from Sauria the brunette was flushed, and feeling quite gorgeous indeed.
"There." Layla smirked triumphantly. "Still feeling fat? Or do we need to get you to a bed~?" She winked, and Sauria chuckled, flushing more deeply.
"What's wrong with the desk?"
