Well I'm a bit late for the holiday, got a bit busy XD But have some kissing couples~ Technically I drew this yesterday so it counts as my day 3 sketch challenge dammit!

As I was drawing them I came up with a dumb RomCom TV show plot for them, as if they were all humans. So instead of shinigami most of them are in law enforcement or fire department or something similar And in a CSI type world where crazy shit happens all the time haha

And sorry if the story I have for your OC isn't what you like, just tell me if you want (if you care) and I'll change it. I got a bit carried away haha. Feel free to jot down a description of your own pairing for this story in the comments too C:

Jo and Eliot: Jo is retired special forces and a current detective in the city police department, and Eliot is a college professor and high profile researcher that often lends a hand in investigations. These two are the old, weathered couple that people come to for advice. It seems like they really have been dating/married for years upon years, so they're kind of the background couple whose relationship is taken for granted because it's just... there, like the sun. Their plot would be about trying to help their floundering friends and discussing having kids

Matt and Cory: Matt is Jo's partner, but is readying to leave the position for a job he snagged in the FBI. Cory is a a research and development botanist thinking about going into teaching. They are another couple that have been together for a while, but they aren't as token as Jo and El. They are the token gay guy friends, and also offer advice to their fledgling couple friends- Matt and Jo often butt heads about what is right. Really they kind of butt heads over everything, but are still besties. Their story would involve changes in their relationship with career advances and both thinking about getting hitched. Maybe~

Rae and Juno: Rae is a younger detective working in the shadow of her sister (even though she has been a cop longer), and gets her ass shot, sidelining her. She's currently instructing at the academy, much to her embarrassment as her sister has gotten herself injured way more and is still kicking just fine (she might just be a mutant though). Juno is a high school teacher with a spotty past as an orphaned pickpocket. Rae is a widower, and has a horrible relationship past, and Juno has only had one actual relationship, so both are ridiculous at talking. Their story would be about Rae having to learn to trust Juno not to just disappear (and build relationship self-esteem) and Juno having to learn to open up and stop quashing down all her needs and feelings because she thinks Juno can't handle it. Rae is overprotective physically, and Juno mentally

Layla and Sauria: Layla, a high school friend of Jo's, is a professional dancer who was a cop until her performing career took off. Sauria is a new transfer to Jo's district, and is a K-9 handler. The two hit it off through Jo and start an insanely steamy friends-with-benefits duo that become notorious at certain bars. Their relationship is kind of built around them etting each other laid, which also includes Van sometimes. But Layla starts to, to her absolute horror, develop feelings for Ria, who seems to have eyes on a blue-hair-dyed bartender who everyone is pretty sure is in a violent gang. Their story revolves around that, and how they deal with feelings (and the gang problem)

Davi and Ysabel: Davi is one of Eliot's students who is teetering on the edge of dropping out to pursue her promising snowboarding career. Honestly I have no idea what Ysabel would be, but I imagine their story would be about Davi fighting her war through Ysabel's many suitors to try and win her over. It seems to work for a time, but Davi feels she isn't up to snuff and backs off (with no shortage of depression), so the audience gets to see Ysabel's reaction? I guess haha pulling at straws for that one

Shinichi and Tsubasa: Shinichi is a wide-eyed freshman at Eliot's college, and he has no idea what he wants to do. He's Van's cousin by marriage, and lives with him (and Layla) in order to have a free college residence. This is how he's come to meet Jo and Layla and the others. Tsubasa is a senior, and looking to join SWAT just like his favorite aunt. Tjeir relationship is a slow build, and frustrating as they are both completely oblivious. They meet at a party, drunkenly agree to become roommates, and one thing lead to another and Van and Layla walk in on them cuddling on the kitchen floor in the morning. Nothing happened, but their story wold be about the buildup to one of them growing a pair and asking the other out, a topic they dance around for some time.

Vanida and Sho: Vanida is Davi's roommate and youtube sensation for her parkour. Sho is a recently released prisoner of two years who was falsely accused of murder/ he was innocent. He is able to return to the MMA scene, and moves in with Sauria (an old friend) until he can find a place to stay. He starts training with Van, who fights on the side, and meets Vanida via youtube... he follows her channel until he realizes she spends a lot of time at the Van/Layla abode to hang out with Shin. He not-so-smoothly starts talking to her, and they sort of form a budding relationship that starts out with just sex and evolves from there. Their story would revolve around relationship building (again) but also them dealing with his 'ex-con' status and also their age gap (of 7-8 years)

Layla and Knight: Layla's story is above, and Knight is a soon to be retired army sniper looking to make roots in law enforcement. On a fluke they meet and have a what should have been one night stand, that turns into breakfast that turns into Layla bringing Knight over to the station for a job.Knight eventually its it off with Jo and the others, and seeks to promote early in order to take Matt's old job. Their relationship is skewed- At first it's just friends with benefits, but Layla starts to discourage it because she knows Knight is looking for something more. Their story would show that progression, and Layla
s evental resolve to find him a steady girlfriend

Grant and Kotone: Grant is an overworked general surgeon, and he's close friends with Eliot (and, under more unfortunate circumstances, the Morellis). I dunno what Kotone's story would be, so you'll have to wait on that haha

Van and Kirena: Van is a former professional MMA fighter who decides to leave it to do something better with his life. He's more of a paper-pushing cop, but still fights on the side from time to time (he's somewhat famous) He's roomies with Layla and Shinichi. He runs unto Kirena at a bar, and she kind of joins the Van-Layla-Sauria sexcapade gaggle. Again, I'm not sure what her story would be sooo~ (also they don't get a picture haha)
